My overall learning experience here, at California State University has been very enriching. I have gained so much understanding of the complexities involved in the historical development and growth of a culture and sub-cultures. I have been able to identify several components that make up the Spanish language. I have learned that there are a variety of ways to interpret the meanings and definitions of particular words in the Spanish. I have also grasped the concept of cultural immersion by collaborating with other students and colleagues in my field of education. By utilizing the information I have found through research and practice in school, I have been able to apply it to the outside world. For example,I am able to apply the new skills that I have acquired through learning in my job. I have also learned how to improve the way I speak, listen, read, and write in a Spanish. By collectively working with other students, I have developed a better sense of what it means to be a team-player. It has been challenging for me through out my time here at CSUMB, because I have had to learn how to work with people who are different than me, or who share different ideas and opinions than I do on particular topics or subject matters. I believe that others have learned from me as well. I, now am able to recognize my level of expertise in the comprehension of Spanish speaking abilities and tendencies. Through the exchange of ideas and group presentations or projects, I have been able to compare and contrast differences and similarities between me and my classmates. I am so grateful for the attention that my professors have provided to me especially during some challenging times. I would not be the student I am without their support and encouragement.
