Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to check my E-portfolio out! I have included links to my Integrative Narrative and Major Learning Outcomes completed at California State University of Monterey Bay. I have also included my Personal Statement below which explains a little about myself and my work and educational experience.
Statement of Purpose
Throughout my educational experience here at CSU Monterey Bay, I have developed an extensive understanding of the Spanish language and the Hispanic culture. When I graduate from here, I plan on taking what I have learned and applying it to whatever field I choose to work in. Some fields of work that interest me are: the medical field, education, the arts, law, business, entertainment, hospitality, food industry, and human resources. I have determined that the best option for me to have in the employment industry would be to keep my options open, instead of limiting my areas of expertise. I believe it is more valuable to obtain as many skills and knowledge as possible from a variety of disciplines, than focusing on one type of mastery. This is more preferable for me because I am a person who enjoys doing a variety of things in a various workplaces. Having this advantage, will give me the chance to work with people from different backgrounds. I will eventually become a more- "well-rounded person"-so to speak. Of course, one of my main goals is to become qualified enough to work as an interpreter. Helping people is one of my best assets and I find great satisfaction in listening and speaking a foreign language. It is like, music to my ears. I plan on reaching my goal by preparing myself to take the American Translators Association certification test (ATA) and become a member of the organization. In addition to earning my certification in Spanish, I plan on gaining hands on experience through an internship or through volunteering my time within the Spanish-speaking community.
